What I've tried to fix the CRV trans shudder
Hi Guys,
I'm working on the dreaded CRV (2014) trans shudder. I've...
- drained and filled 3x with Honda fluid (twice)
- checked and cleaned shift solenoids A & B (screens clean, action good, ohms in range)
- checked and cleaned the ground connection on the trans
- got the computer updated
It still shudders intermittently around 25mph and 35mph going uphill.
Is there anything else I should try before going ahead and spending a couple thousand to get the torque converter replaced?
And if I replace the T/C will that fix it?
Thanks for your help.

I guess 2015 all CRV's went CVT, so not sure when that was offered.
If its a normal conventional step transmission, I guess they can have the torque converter clutch slip deal.
I'd be doing an actual pressure test to see if it is a pressure loss, and decide from there.

Our 2012 had the same issue. Honda first tried some reprogramming with no change, then a full transmission flush with no change and last was a new Torque convertor that solved the issue. This was all covered by Honda at the time.
Thanks.
I just discovered that my mechanic didn't do a full swap on the fluid - only got about a 1/3 drained. So I'm going to do a full 3x drain and fill and see what happens.

The fix is a new torque converter.
