Best speed part investment
There is no magical singular part that will make any noticeable difference.
If you want actual horsepower gains then nitrous, an engine swap, or turbocharging are basically your only options. Nitrous will have the cheapest upfront cost by a long shot but filling the bottle will eventually close the gap and surpass the other options in overall cost. A basic swap is an easy $3500-4000+ in 2024, more if you have to have someone else do the work and source the (now rare)parts. Turbo will be of similar expense and may not be very reliable depending on the condition of your current engine/transmission.
Chasing horsepower in these cars is inadvisable nowadays for multiple reasons. If you just want to make it more sporty and fun then shift your focus to a proper suspension setup, performance oriented tires, and brake upgrades.

Reducing weight. Specifically reducing unsprung weight. Spoon wheels came in at 8lbs each. While many aftermarkets weigh 28 lbs each.
Past that, a nice set of tires are always fun. Also I couldn't believe the handling that a simple strut tower bar did for my car in the corners.

My experience of things that were worth the money
1. good brake pads and rotors (if your rotors are worn)
2. polyurethane suspension bushings
3. a cone filter just for the fun noises
4. good tyres
Beyond that, not much point messing with the engine too much if your vehicle is an automatic.
