Default New Issues

So on my 95 Wagon EX with the 2.2L, Ive gotten a new problem. Monday the car decided it was no longer going to start from the key. (Starter does not engage with key in Start) I tried changing the entire ignition cylinder to an alternate assembly with no luck. With a little poking and proding, the car will start with the key in "Run" and temporarily tapping the starter wire with a direct connection to the battery positive. It will continue to run and drive until you shut the key off and will only start if you do the same thing over again. I dont have Tach or Speedo, and while I have standard speed hazards, the left and right blinkers fast blink. This leads me to believe the fuel pump and ECU and TCM are all functioning.

Not sure how the starter relay would create a loss of tac/speedo. I can try and change it, but I need to check a wiring diagram as well

So I have more pieces to this puzzle. The car will not shift out of park without assistance of emergency key slot. Also it feels like the car doesnt want to shift/very underpowered when I do get the thing started by touching the starter directly to the battery.

Turned out to be a faulty alternator. Alt was producing only 7v and had eventually run down the battery causing the problem. Stuck the battery on a tender, got it up to snuff. Car cranked fine, so I used a jumper box with timeout and the car died once the time out occured. measured the voltage at the terminals, only 7V. I slapped an 80amp Alt that I had from a box of parts I purchased long ago on the car for now until I can get a proper one. Seems like everything has returned.
