Default 98 accord runs like poop

Hello guys. Well I have a honda accord 98 v6 3.0.... I had an exhaust leak coming out of the downflow cat.....so I cut the wire to the o2 sensor and straight piped it. OMG I took it for a drive and it wouldn't change to second gear for a minute than it runs fine but as soon as I let off the gas....the engine downshifts hard than it feels like my it doesn't want to go. Than it will do the same all over again. Take a second to hit second gear than drives fine. I put a new o2 sensor in the straight pipe no good.... I put the original cat and o2 sensor back and still have the same problem. Any suggestions??? Thanks

The Gen 6 V6 has a notoriously bad transmission. You might take a look there.

update......I ended up frying my ECU by not un hooking the battery and having my coworker cut my cat off with disconnecting the o2 sensor and just cut the wires....I found a ECU on ebay with the same exact part number as my OEM ECU took it to a shop and they had someone from the honda dealer come and reprogram my car to the used ECU. Now it runs fine....150 for the used ECU and 250 for the reprogramming. 400.00 altogether
