2003 Honda Civic Turbocharger Upgrade
Hello, I own a 2003 Honda civic LX (with a 1.7L engine) in pretty good condition, but would like to find a way to get some more acceleration out of it. I have done a bit of research and have seen that adding a turbocharger to the engine should boost my acceleration, so my question is wether or not it would be worth it to add a turbocharger, or if I should just get a better car before attempting upgrades like this.
The turbo kits for a 2003 I have seen range from $700-$1000, so with the current resale value of my civic around $4000, would it be a bad idea to spend that money in something that wont really increase the sale price?
Also, if I am to get a turbocharger kit, what would be the required other things to be done to the car/engine to get it in a solid running state? I have seen a tune of the ecu would be a good idea, but I have also seen that I may need a new ecu all together? As well as the possible strain on 20-ish year old parts within the car, I am guessing it would lower my cars lifespan.
Sorry for the bombardment of questions, I am rather new to the car modding world, so if I have something wrong please let me know. Also if you need any more details about the car/engine let me know.
Thanks, VonKuhn.

You should sell the car before something goes wrong with it and buy a 2017 or newer civic si or accord sport with the 1.5 turbo engine.
