I got a 2000 accord v6 went to replace the alternator and stripped the hole getting the 14mm out next to the belt tensioner, honestly just trying to figure out where to go from here. I don’t think it’s part of any bolt on could be part of the block I don’t know. Please help!
Replace the threads with a Helicoil or a Time Sert. The hardest part will probably be drilling out the hole. You would probably need a right angle drill due to the space constraints.
That is also a bracket attached to your engine that you could probably replace. It holds the alternator and water pump but is very accessible and easy to take off from my knowledge. I have an older accord but I would imagine they are similar.
Got all the drill stuff (bit and thread kit) but I don’t have enough clearance. As far as it being a bracket I can’t find anything that says it is or find a way to take it out by looking at it so if anyone has an idea where to go from here I’d appreciate it!
Only thing I can think of is somehow being able to tap it or really carefully trying to rethread it with the screw. Unfortunate situation and hope you get it figured out. Calling some local shops for ideas would also help because they should have some experience with things like this. Best of luck
