Default Replace lighter socket of my honda accord 1990

Hi,

since sometimes I leave my car stopped for some time, I bought a solar panel which connects through the lighter socket, which is currently not working (it's crooked, so broken). I am planning to change it myself. is it easy to do? I plan to buy it on rockauto.

One thing I am not sure among other things if it's the lighter socket is connected to the battery at all times, since the current needs to go through to keep the battery charged.

If the replacing is difficult (which I don't think), or if you think there are better options to connect the solar panel (this one: https://www.amazon.it/ECO-WORTHY-Car.../dp/B0C9Z4NHJH),
could you tell me? Something for instance consisting in replacing the broken lighter socket with usb ports to which I could connect also the solar panel.

Best regards.

If it is the same as my '94, the power to the lighter cut off when the ignition is off. Things like phone chargers will tell you if it cuts off or not. For something like the solar panel, I would wire a dedicated circuit to the battery with lots of built-in safety devises, like fuses and circuit breakers.
