Hello Everyone,

I have a 2012 Accord LX with about 110,000 miles on it, and I've had it since 2018.

As far as I know, the alternator is original, and I'm kind of amazed that it's still going strong, but I don't want to push my luck with it, so I'd rather get one put in before it starts to go bad on me.

I went to look for a Denso alternator, but I can't seem to find a brand new one, only re-manufactured.

Am I just looking in the wrong place, or does this not exist?

If I need to get another brand for a new alternator, can you folks suggest something that is high quality and not re-manufactured?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I refuse to buy a rebuilt alternator at the parts store, unless they bench test the new rebuilt one before I leave the store and prove to me that its working. I've gone through the process of replacing them too many times, having a "brand new" rebuilt alternator not work. Find a local rat rod shop, or speed shop and ask if they have or know of a local guy who rebuilds their hard to find 40's,50's,&60's alternators. Sometimes they will also rebuild Honda alternators as well.

 

Desno reman is better than alternative new alternators,unless you buy from the dealer.
