Hello, I've had a reliable Accord until about a month ago. Brake light switch broke, shorted some wires while repairing that
Currently the [D] lamp is on, indicating transmission issue. Have rarely seen that, even on near-freezing days and hot alike.
The Solenoid C assembly is available, under 100, and just wanted to see if there's hope there. Checking levels at a more level parking space, topped off the fluid with spec for the car.
Again, flashing [d] lamp, Solenoid C fault indicated on an ODB2 scan.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
the upper center white lamp is just one I put in while exploring the dashboard, has nothing to do with the issue. And how you know it's me.
I'm going broke chasing this gremlin. the transmission was fine until the electrical short. if I go for
a Solenoid C, is there hope? I didn't have any transmission issues prior to that.
Yes. I was repairing the brake light switch and shorted a wrench on the main relay
With the car on. It stopped the engine, electrical fuse, and trace on the main relay.
Patched the relay trace. Engine would start (if antifeft lamp active)
Replaced solenoids, (A B)
and we just ran this code reader yesterday. The result was only for fault in Solenoid C,
it's been reliable and this is the first time I've seen the flashing D indicator since I've owned it.
My theory is that somehow I shorted that solednoid C and that a replacement one would resolve the issue
as I would not go anywhere with a flashing transmission warning lamp .
.I have not done the jumper procedure 4 9 pins, just the obd2 reader.
Please post back with what you find out. I'm still learning when it comes to automatic transmissions. Do you have a FSM (Helms) for that car? That may give you are walk through procedure for testing that solenoid specifically.
I'm working with what looks to be the factory service manual, 1998-2002 published 2001 Honda service publications.
So when we talk we can try to literally be on the same page. of 1695. My field work usually is just around 30 pages, but that's just POS computers.
