Help! Connected B1S1 and B2S2, think I killed my 07 Element
I had a P0420 code and went to change bank 1 02 sensor. Pulled the old and found the 02 sensor I bought had the opposite connector. So l pulled bank 2 thinking I'll change that instead to see if that'll work. I see that I could connect both together, and for some dumbass reason thought it could trick the ECU. Well, I was wrong, now not only it the CEL on, so is VSA, ABS, BRAKE lights are on. Pretty sure I fried the ECU cause of this dumb experiment. Please help.
Likely just a blown fuse.
Honda is pretty good at preventing dumb moves.
Also it needs a cat. Swapping sensors is nearly always a waste of time and money.

You're pretty on point about the cat. Bought it from a private honda "mechanic" last year, drove it about 50 miles, CEL came on. Code was for B1S1 P0420. Took it to Firestone for a tune-up, a once over and to resolve the code. Original cat had been stolen and aftermarket one welded on. Has 2 spacers on B2S2 so I was going to add another one to bank 1 but, stupid last second decision, connected them together to see what would happen. Welp, I did a dumbass move.
If I do fix it with a fuse or 2, you think another cat will fix it. I was quoted $2500 for exhaust replacement, which I'd rather not pay.

$2500 is about right for a factory cat. Assuming the PO didn't cut flanges off and booger weld everything together.
The aftermarket cats don't last. They either mechanically fail when the honeycomb crumbles or they don't perform well enough and cause a P0420 pretty quickly.
Between two Elements I think we have been through 6 cats from theft and crappy aftermarket cats failing that the insurance company specified.

Nope, no flanges, just boogers. Worst part is I'm trying to sell it. It's in great condition otherwise, and was in better condition than yesterday. I don't use it anymore since I have a work vehicle now. I just need a fix that won't cost an arm and a leg like $2500
