Default F18B Stroker ECU

Hello Everyone

I would like to use an F22/23 crank and rods in an F18B block [CD3 1996 ODB1], however I would like to avoid a standalone ECU by keeping the compression ratio the same as a stock Accord and use a stock Accord Manual ECU.

Is this possible? If I keep the compression ratio and CC the same, can I use a matching stock ECU? I don't want the hassle\price of tuning etc, I just need the extra grunt of an F22/F23

Thank you!

Yes. You would use an F22A/B crank and rods, as the F23 crank has 55mm mains and is not compatible for that reason and others.

I am guessing you can just source a USDM OBD1 F22B2 ECU and it would be plug and play. Just make sure to use the appropriate 240cc low impedance injectors. I am not intimately familiar with the market for the CD3/F18B and am unsure if there are any major electronic differences so I can't say for sure. You would have to do your own research on that.

Thanks Aradin

I have read that the main journals in the F18B is 55mm, and I have access to F23 crank which is the same. The plan is to machine the F23 crank to 50mm mains if necessary. What do you think ? Any other reason why the F23 crank would not work?

My engine has F18B stamped on the block, I have not yet dismantled as its my daily, so don't know for sure main journal size

Thanks again

Interesting project there. The question I have is what is your aim and goal for it? What are you looking for by stroking it out etc? More power?
