Multiple error codes after valve cover gasket replacement
Hi,
I just replaced my valve cover gasket on my 2015 EX-L 2.4L CVT (211,000 miles) and upon starting the car I have multiple error codes. Check engine, electronic power steering, traction control, TPMS, forward collision warning and lane collision warning lights all came on.
Car seems to run fine and I don’t notice any power steering issues. Tires are inflated properly. There is no visible seepage of oil around the gasket. I disconnected and reconnected the battery. One time it did not show any codes but upon restarting the engine a second time the error codes lit up again.
I’m positive that I reconnected all hoses and wiring harnesses. I double checked that I reconnected the two hoses and all the wiring harnesses after the error codes came up. I do my own car maintenance and repair and have never had issues like this.
The only thing I noticed prior to this job was that the battery seemed weak as the car occasionally wouldn’t start with an initial push of the the start button. Voltage on the battery is 12.8 and replaced in 10/22.

Hi,
No, no ground strap.
Thanks for the input - I’ll probably get the battery checked out. If that checks out, I’ll probably go through all the connections and reseat all of them to make sure they’re connected properly
Re: Multiple error codes after valve cover gasket replacement
I'm not familiar with this car, but it sounds like a wire is shorting out somewhere to me, or a ground came loose. When you get so many problems at one time like that when everything was working before, and appears to be physically working now. I looked up the valve cover procedure just to see, and the only thing that might be an issue, is did you pull the alternator harness for this fix?
If so, this might be an issue:
Other than that, did something fall into your fuse box? or did one of the extra wires on the battery come off and touching something it shouldn't be?
