ok so i have a 1990 EF hatch that i swapped a built d16y8 into. unfortunately the d16 block exploded. what i ended up doing is putting the original d15b1 back in with the d16y8 head. figured i could salvage a mini me from the ruble. the issue is that i cant get the motor to fire i have checked all the grounds and I'm pretty sure there all installed correctly. i am using the original harness ecu and intake from the car since it all worked fine with the d16 before it blew. i get spark fuel and compression. By now i must've verified the timing at least 5 times. after some research i found an old forum with someone who built the same mini me and they had to retard the cam. even after trying that i don't get more than the occasional sputter. Does anyone have any insight they could share?
