2002 Honda Civic Ex
Hello y’all I’m very new to the car scene but here’s my problem, So I was on the highway going probably 15 mph maybe less maybe alittle more but my Alt belt snapped and my car just stopped but I replaced it and now my car cranks but doesn’t start even with a jumpstart someone said it is the timing belt (I just replaced it like less then 200 miles ago do to water pump being bad so I had to buy the kit that had timing belt included) but if it is is there a chance my valves got damaged and if they did would my car start or just keep on cranking but not starting? Or what can be another issue I have if I replace the belt but it doesn’t start??? Please help asap!!!

If you think it's the timing belt you could pull the top valve cover off and remove the top timing belt cover. There is 4 marks you have to watch out for 3 on the cam pulley and 1 on the harmonic balancer. I believe ours engines rotate counter clockwise
[QUOTE=MSGuy71;52821712]My 2002 civic DX has done the same, I deleted AC belt. Or went to shorter belt and skipped the AC pulley. Now it cranks and doesn't start... ECU? Why?
Here's something I found on another thread
The alternator mounting bolt is the ground for the alternator, if it falls off or loosens the resistance will shoot up and the resulting voltage surge will burn through the underdash fuses and fry the ecu (it may not blow a single fuse because the current has not overwhelmed them.) Think of what would happen if your car was on and you removed the negative battery terminal, the car would try to ground through other means and fry things!!

Well update, sent ECU to be rebuilt....re installed (original ECU was evaluated and repaired by Module Experts, Jacksonville Florida) put new sparkplugs, new Crankshaft sensor, and new camshaft sensor (TDC). Kinda tried to sputter and then all crank no start....any ideas ...would definitely be interested in any at all. Thank you in advance.

Does there happen to be that green key on the dash flashing while your trying to crank. If so It will prolly need to be programed. The immobilizer might not be talking to the ECU.
What brand you go with the sensors ? Everything plugged in? @@@@@@@
