Both have f22 engines with VTEC
Prelude has more engine aftermarket support

They both do not have F22 engines with VTEC.
4th gen Preludes came with an older version of the F series, the F22A. No VTEC.
5th gen Accords used a redesigned engine which mainly had changes with the cylinder head and intake/exhaust manifolds. The port patterns are different between the F22A and F22B engines. The F22B1 head is also slightly taller than the non-vtec F22A/F22B heads.
Aside from bottom end internal parts, since they use basically the same shortblock, aftermarket parts will not be interchangeable between the two.
