Default Good mature exhaust for 2000 Civic Si

Hello everyone! I bought a used 2000 Si a week ago and have been pulled over almost DAILY for the stupid blast pipe the previous owner put on, it’s loud, ugly, and I keep getting pulled over for it. I’ll need to replace the whole thing and I want a nice quiet mature exhaust that won’t get very loud until the VTEC cross over. I was hoping I could have some input as I’m sure the Police and my neighbors that have to hear it at 7am are just as sick of it as I am.

A'PEXi WS3? When I think of mature, that one comes to mind. Otherwise go custom.

Yep. The WS exhausts have a nice low growl and don't sound raspy or crappy. Also, run a catalytic converter (if you're not already). There's no good reason not to, and it will make the car sound better too.

The WS muffler tip also tucks up to the 99-00 bumer perfectly and looks oh so nice peeking out... something its knockoff versions cannot accomplish for some reason.

Yeah I figured the lack of a Cat was the main culprit, I’ll attach some photos of the abomination of a custom exhaust when I get the chance so everyone can revel in its matte black “glory”, and JUST TO BE SUPER DUPER CLEAR I had nothing to do with the Installation or Creation of it.

Not the best photos I know but here’s the exhaust from the back to the front, as you can see the bumper is already messed up a fair bit so I’m not too concerned with fitment

I like a Hytech twin loop muffler and exhaust. Maturity? Debate-able, I just turned 60...

This is my current setup and I don't think I'll be changing it anytime soon.

I have a PLM Toda replica manifold, high flow cat, resonator, and Kakimoto muffler. It's all 2.5" and connected with V bands. Everyone who has ridden my car says it sounds perfect and is completely fine for cruising. It really starts screaming when in VTEC. I only went this route because where I'm from, systems for the coupe is hard to come by and usually expensive.

If you've access to some off the shelf exhausts, I'd recommend the A'PEXi like I said before. Anything with a cambered muffler is good. I think GReddy makes one. Kakimoto, Fujitsubo...

Well everyone on closer inspection my exhaust is a 3 inch inner diameter with a 3.25 outer diameter, I needed a cheap interem exhaust for the time being until I can get a nice setup so I started browsing FB and found a 1999 GSR exhaust. Im aware its not a direct fit and id have to weld and cut some bits but has anyone else attempted this? I found this thread and got curious.

If I remember correctly, the Integra runs a different size cat, so you may need to make a new cat to suit or even adjust the length of the mid section. The muffler you just need to swing the hangers 180 degrees and it'll line up perfectly on the coupe.

I know this because not too long ago I upgraded my exhaust (You can see from my previous reply) and I gave a friend of mine the old system. He fitted it up to his Integra, after heating up the hangers and turning them the other way. Lined up perfectly. Only problem he ran into is the mid section couldn't reach his OEM cat, so it needed extending.

I'm not sure about the USDM Hondas, like what length cats they run. Its pretty much a breeze apart from the cat to mid section.

Just looked back and saw the 3" pipe... good god. That's half of your noise problem.

Assuming the Integra exhaust you found is from a hatch... You'll need to extend the tailpipe from the muffler back to the bumper. You'd be better off trying to find a Civic coupe/sedan exhaust if you can.

You really should run a catalyst, emissions inspection or not. It costs virtually no power, quiets the car down a notch, makes it less stinky, and makes you a better person. Wins all around.
