Default 1994 Honda Civic HB - Part Identification

Hi!
I have a 1994 civic HB. I bought this car used and while it looked great underneath it’s kind of a mess. I noticed at one point my knee bolster/instrument cover was attached with screws. After further investigation I see that there is a bar? Or piece that the cover sits on? and it’s missing in my car. Does anyone know the name of this part or a possible fix? The Honda parts page diagrams don’t even show the piece.

i included a picture for clarification

There is no "bar" there. The lower instrument cover goes there. #14 in the diagram.

There is a collapsible knee shield that goes there. I'll see if I can find more info.

I'm guessing the part you're missing is #31 the collapsible knee bolster: 77893-SR0-A02

It's a hefty metal plate.

I have the instrument cover that has the fuse door in it.
The bottom of the cover has two hooks that I believe have to sit on something. The panel seems to be designed to be supported from the bottom and what ever that is seems to be missing. It was screwed in at the top so it just hangs there. If anyone has a 92-95 civic I’d be curious what the instrument panel sits on at the bottom…

I'll take a look when I get home today. I just stripped the interior out of my '92 DX hatch and all of the parts are scattered around my garage. I also have a complete '92 Si that we can compare it to.

I've taken a bunch of photos as I disassembled the car. The passenger side has a thin aluminum support bar that goes behind the glove box, but I don't remember removing anything like that on the drivers side. It looks like the far left side of the lower dash bolts to a bracket below the fuse panel.

Thanks. I appreciate the help!! That is what mine looks like. There seems to be one on the other side at the same height. That’s why I was thinking maybe it was a bar or something that connect on both sides.

94eg! is correct. It took me a few minutes to find it on my '92 Si. It's mounted ~3 inches higher than the two brackets that secure the lower dash.

This is the side nearest to the drivers door.

This is the side nearest to the center console.

It looks like my '92 DX is missing this part. I don't remember removing it and I can't find it anywhere.

You can find them in salvage yards... I believe the part is the same regardless of the chassis... so a '92-95 Civic 2-DR, 3-DR or 4-DR will all have the same bar. Pick one up.

Thanks everyone for the help. I do have the knee bolster. I finally got down there with a light and it appears that my actual dash is broken.

I posted an update below this post.

Ok I have been scouring videos on you tube. I think I have found what’s missing. I was thinking it was a bar, but it seems like it’s just two slots. The one by the console in mine is definitely broken I guess I need to make something to fix it? I can’t tell where it goes on drivers side. If someone with a 92-95 would you mind taking a shot of what the two hooks on the instrument cover sit on? Mainly I need to see the side next to the drivers door…

Not all Hatch backs have that knee bolster. My wifes Canadian DX has it while my Canadian CX did not. I don't think my Canadian VX has it either. I think it might be related to tilt steering column but not sure.
