Hey guys so i picked up this honda not that long ago and it failed smog from the previous owner for nox. When i drove it home it drove like crap stumbling and falling on its face upon acceleration. I checked timing to make sure it was good and sent it to get smog. The tech placed the probe in the tailpipe and ran back to kick it out since the vehicle was dumping a butt load of fuel getting hc higher than 300 just idling. He suggested to check timing and replace the fuel rail since it was a ebay aftermarket. Came home check out the timing on the belt and cam was at top dead while crank was at the 15 btdc mark it was way off. Did a full replacement of the timing belt placed it back in time and put a stock fuel rail and the vehicle started to run like a honda no more stumbling. I took it for round two and the inspector didn’t finish the test since it was failing already at the 15MPH. So my question is this if this vehicle failed for nox, but timing was way off what could be causing the smog failure now since everything is set where it’s supposed to be set.ill input a pic of the failed smog from previous owner. Failed smog test for nox
