Hey guys, totally new here. I've always loved cars and loud, powerful motors. I'm finally at a point in my life where I have some time and some resources to start having some fun with some of my own. There is something I've always wanted to do for one of my "Big Dreams".

I purchased a "totaled" 2001 Acura MDX for $1500 back in 2010. Other than a bit of ugly between the passenger side doors, everything works and it has been the best car I've ever owned. I bought it with around 120k miles on it and I've just about doubled that now. For years this car used to be my daily driver, but now gets driven every once in a while. The engine in this has always felt a bit sluggish, which was great at the time because I used to drive fast and got lots of tickets, but this helped me to slow things down a bit and get a clean slate.

For my Big Dreams, I have 2 things that I am wanting to do. First, I want to pull out and completely rebuild an engine myself (other than any machining that would be needed). Secondly, I love this car and I want to continue driving it till it dies, and I want to put some life and fun back into it by making it a kind of "Sleeper Car". I want to do a backyard build and make this thing an unsuspecting monster. It currently has a J35A3 engine, and I want to make that thing scream. If I can get the engine in this to be noisy, powerful, and fun, the next thing on my list is to kind of "Baja" it out. I know that all this probably sounds pretty dumb for me to want to do this to a 2001 Acura MDX, but it's what I've got to work with and I really want to not only hold on to this car, but give me a reason to want to keep driving it, and HAVE SOME FUN.

My main reason for joining this community is, I don't know where to start, what would work, and what would be best. I met a guy who said that this is the place to learn and find people with similar interests and dreams.
