I was recently gifted a 1994 2.2L Accord EX 5speed. It is a real piece of work that needs a boat load of TLC to get back to road worthy. From there it'll replace my Toyota Tundra as my daily driver and I am so very excited to get it going again!
No thread is complete without pics:
The new to me 94' Accord
And my current vehicle: 2011 5.7L Toyota Tundra
Looking forward to reading and learning from y'all!
Idle is surging - already started searching on this, and there's a bunch of things it could be. This is also a new issue as this wasn't happening a few days ago when I first drove it.
Haven't cleaned it yet, but the engine has a nice coating of oil all over, complete with fresh wet oil drips at the bottom - I need to deep clean the engine bay to figure out where the leaks are coming from (aside from the valve cover which I am aware of).
From a previous theft attempt the plastic around the steering column is all jacked up as is the ignition cylinder - I was told this is what is causing the battery to have a constant drain and requires the battery to be disconnected when parked, but who really knows.
headlight bulb is out - easy peasy
"'Cause somebody stole my car radio, and now I just sit in silence" - headphones will suffice for now, but eventually I'll need to do something about this. I also noticed the speaker in the back has cut wires. I discovered this when opening the trunk because the trunk open indicator light is on even though the trunk is closed-ish.
Oh and the trunk doesn't fully close, or well it kinda does eventually but the light doesn't turn off
I'm sure there will be more to do, the obvious place to start is getting it running right and that's why I'm here
Oh, and the struts are shot
edit: I almost forgot - there is some sort of terrible noise coming from the front end. It is rotational in sound but could be the engine bouncing around due to shot motor mounts or a bad drive axle. I really don't know yet but whatever it is, it can't be good. haha
