Default '01 b18c1 in to '98 Civic LX

Been out of the game for years so struggling to remember the details on this or find a good swap guide.

Brother has a '98 Civic LX sedan 5spd, and got his hands on a full '01 b18c1 5spd swap...complete engine, trans, mounts, harness, ecu. I believe the Civic is obd2a and the gsr swap is from an '01 so it's obd2b.

What exactly do I need to get that drivetrain working in the civic & obd2? Mounts, linkages, ecu or distributor harness adapters, which engine harness, any need to add/alter wiring or swap sensors, etc?

What's needed if we decide to convert to obd1 from the start, for future modding/tuning?

Thanks.

Well since you need to use your original engine harness, just get an OBD2a ECU from a 96-97 GSR.

Your going to need to add wires to the ECU for intake-air-bypass and other stuff a 96-97 GSR had that a 97 LX doesn't.

Also need a B-series radiator, an intake, and whatever makes the exhaust meet up.

What exactly do I need to get that drivetrain working in the civic & obd2? Mounts ('99-00 Civic Si Left engine bracket, rear "T" bracket and transmission torque bracket, '97-01 A/C bracket - you use the upper transmission bracket and the drivers side mount and bracket tab), linkages ('99-00 Civic Si or '94-01 Integra), ecu (The '01 GSR ECU will NOT work because of the immobilizer... source a '96-99 Integra GSR ECU) or distributor harness adapters (the GSR Distributor should plug right in), which engine harness (there is NO plug-n-play solution... you modify the engine harness originally installed in your '98 Civic LX and add the VTEC and IAB wiring... and move/change plugs as necessary), any need to add/alter wiring or swap sensors, etc? Yes.

What's needed if we decide to convert to obd1 from the start, for future modding/tuning? An OBD-2A -> OBD-1 adapter harness and a tuneable ECU.

Thanks.

Just to confirm, I'll need;

99-00 Si left engine bracket, rear T bracket, and trans torque bracket
97-01 AC bracket (meaning the one from my '98 civic?), and re-use my upper trans bracket, driver side mount and bracket tab?
99-00 Si or 94-01 Integra linkages
96-99 GSR ECU (plug and play with existing ecu harness?)
Re-use my engine harness, may need to modify/move sensor plugs, and add IAB/VTEC wiring back to ECU harness/pins

Was there a significant difference between my '98 EK mounts and 99-00 Si mounts? I was under the impression EK mounts could be re-used for a b swap, and it was the EGs that needed a mix of civic/integra mounts for a b swap.

Once this was all done, the obd2a to obd1 conversion is as simple as getting the right ecu harness and a chipped p28? Don't need to mess with the distributor or anything else on the engine harness?

Was there a significant difference between my '98 EK mounts and 99-00 Si mounts? You WILL be able to use all five MOUNTS found on your EK chassis, however, the brackets necessary to connect these mounts to the "B" series engine/transmission differ from those that exist on your "D" series engine/transmission. I was under the impression EK mounts could be re-used for a b swap, and it was the EGs that needed a mix of civic/integra mounts for a b swap. This statement is incorrect. If you don't believe me... try it.
Once this was all done, the obd2a to obd1 conversion is as simple as getting the right ecu harness and a chipped p28 (If you trust a chipped P28... I suggest one with a Hondata S300 for PROPER tuning)? Don't need to mess with the distributor (No) or anything else on the engine harness (The engine harness will have to be modified... and it would be a lengthy explanation so I will not detail it all. Briefly, the CKF sensor is converted from 3-wire to 2-wire. The primary O2 plug needs to be moved from the front of the engine to the back. The MAP and TPS sensors will need to be moved and may need to be lengthened. IACV may need to be converted from 3-wire to 2-wire. If you have a 3-wire, the orange/black wire can be repurposed for use as the VTEC solenoid signal wire. The P28 ECU does not have a knock sensor circuit, nor the ability to operate the IAB circuit, so wiring these will not be necessary.)?
