Default Scraping sound

2010 crv 2wd automatic transmission Getting a scraping sound from the front of the car. Brake pads and rotors are new 6 months ago. The sound is not dependent with braking. I narrowed the sound to driving between 18 and 35 mph only when I do not have the accelerator pressed. As soon as I press the accelerator the noice stops. If I put the trans in neutral the sound also stops. If I am coasting in gear it loudest starting at 35mph and continues to 18 mph where it just stops and the car seems to roll easier. I checked the cv axle and there is a little up/down play at the driverside axle transmission seal. When I hand stun the axle I did hear a little scap at the seal. No signs of damaged or leaking seal or boots. Thinking it is the cv axle. Not sure though.
