What trans works best with a jdm h22a swap?
Hello I’m new to this forum and to cars in general and I have a 2001 Honda prelude with a jdm h22a swap, I’m running the auto trans it came with but I have plans to do an auto to manual swap and seeming as how I don’t know much about all the different types of gear ratios and different transmissions I want to be sure I’m picking the best option.
many works with H22A - just make sure oilpan matches the transmission. Like 96 transmission has bolt for same year oilpan which 97 transmission doesnt (or other way around dont remember exactly) so some modifications could be needed.

the best would be one with LSD

There's quite a lot of options for the h and f series (not s2000 f series)
not sure what your budget is but you can do a t2w4 which has some of the more aggressive gearing for this platform if you want an lsd.
Non lsd I would say to go with the basic m2y4 5th gen trans from a base.
Are you wanting to go turbo later? Turbo in most cases requires longer gears.
There's a long list of transmissions.
