Hi
Someone came to change my 2007 Honda civic's battery and he said he noticed a leak somewhere, I think he said in the gasket. He said if I don't fix it, the leak can damage the alternator or engine. I don't know anything about cars but after researching, I found that changing the gasket is a pain, both in terms of amount of time and cost. I am wondering what's the consequence of leaving it alone? will it really damage my engine or alternator? I am posting 2 pictures, I was debating which one to post because they seem equivalent to me but I guess one shows more detail than the other. Also my phone is a pos hopefully you can see the details that you need.
Nah, just skip all maintenance and run it into the ground. Maintenance is too expensive.
But seriously the valve cover gasket does appear to be leaking. When were the valves last adjusted? Two birds one(ish) stone. And hey why not replace the spark plugs too? They are due roughly the same time as a valve adjustment and all the stuff will be out of the way for the valve cover gasket job.

Hello,
thank you for your reply. I don't know what valve cover gasket is. I don't know what a valve is, or what it means to adjust a valve.
edit: I just looked up how to replace valve cover gasket on a honda civic on youtube. This seems like an easy job that should take 30 minutes. This guy was saying it's a 6 hour job because a lot of parts need to be removed.
