You’re all welcome to roast me if this has been done before or if it’s not allowed. However, I tried looking up a write-up on how to do a steering wheel swap from a stock Del Sol to an EP3 and couldn’t find anything, and so I did it myself, I thought I’d share it with you all in case somebody is wondering if it's possible! Yes it is.
edit: Id someone is knowledgeable enough I need to figure on how to possibly keep the airbag working or if not just the horn! Ep3 type r steering wheel (Idk what the air bag is from) The stock del sol steering wheel I successfully swapped the stock steering wheel for a ep3 steering wheel
So, the airbag is disabled, the horn doesn't work and the cruise control doesn't work... so what exactly do you call a "Successful" EP3 steering wheel swap ? Do your turn signals turn off when you turn the wheel back against the direction of the turn ?
I am not trying to sound harsh here, but if your idea of a successful conversion is discovering that the spline size is the same and you can tighten a 19mm nyloc nut down on it... I say you still have a long way to go. One can teach a bear to stick a bolt into a hole... that is the EASY part. Integration is the challenging/creative stuff. The cruise control functions differently on the wheel from your chassis, so it is not compatible. I believe that the airbag inflator is also different and will not function with the SRS system in the car.
The EG/Del Sol share the same steering column, so you can’t just put an EP3 steering wheel on the spline of a Del Sol; they aren’t compatible. I swapped in an EK steering column and drilled the ignition key switch and put it on the ek steering column. Ik its not really that impressive, but it seems like I’m one of a handful of people who have done it. Now, I just have to figure out the airbag; I already have the horn, turn signal, and windshield wiper controls working. 👍🏾

Swapping in the EK steering column and moving over your key switch assembly is absolutely the correct path... great job. (Incidentally... that information would have been really helpful to others who peruse this post and should have been stated up front ) For the air bag... compare the plug from your Del Sol bag to the EP3 bag... if the plug style is the same and has the same number of pins in it... the inflator/deployer style is the same. If the plugs are different (the EP3 plug has MORE wires/pins inside the plug), then it is unlikely that you will get it to operate properly... and deployment may fail when you need it most. One option in this case is to find an airbag that will bolt to the EP3 steering wheel and still have the same plug style as the original Del Sol bag does. Are you using the original Del Sol cable reel ?
I have a Del Sol with a similar conversion (EK column)... only I am using a non-SRS JDM EK9 (Civic Type R) steering wheel... so I didn't have to bother with the SRS issues... and the horn works as well. Original Del Sol VTEC stalks too.
