Default Do you add any dielectric grease to the ignition coil spring?

When replacing rotor and cap I noticed white powdery corrosion on the coil lead. Removed spring and cleaned it all up and reinstalled everything. But now I’m wondering if I should have added some dielectric grease to the coil lead or spring to prevent corrosion in the future? Not sure if they come like that or not

Moisture.

Probably seeped in through that rubber seal that nobody ever changes. The seal is that thing in the box the distributor cap came in that you probably already threw away. No worries though, if it was an aftermarket cap, the seal probably wouldn't have fit anyway.

Actually I always change that seal when replacing the distributor cap
