Hey guys, just wanted to share these awesome wheels I've found. I was searching for 4 lug replica Civic Type R wheels, and I found none for sale. I found a company but they were apparently rare. Luckily, I came across a guy at a car show who had a set of reps. I was shocked to see them because it was exactly what I was looking for.
The brand is Circuit Performance and the EK9 reps are called CP42. They also have some ITR reps on there. I am sharing them here because when I searched for these prior, I never came across this brand and I want to say that I'm super happy with them. They are fairly priced, about $600 for a set, and they are 15x7. You can get them in 4 and 5 lug. Fit them with some 205 / 50 r15 tires. I'm using Nitto Neogens and they perform and look so good. I hope that this post gets them some more attention and helps someone else out. Because I couldn't have found them if it wasn't for meeting someone with them. I have attached some pictures below to show you how good they look.
For center caps, the black ones that come with the wheels look good wear my lip and skirts aren't painted. However, I would like to get color matched ones and also get some replica center caps. I found some at one time on amazon to paint over but I am going to have to 3d print an H template or something like I did in the ones pictured below, but those have way too much play in them and I only realized after painting them. I also suggest getting some silver lug nuts on their website too to complete the OEM look.
Here it is mocked up with one of the center caps I made. But it didn't end up fitting good.
I don't know how to make these images any smaller but they are massive on my screen lol
Get 'em while you can cause they'll probably get sued pretty quickly. I managed to get a set 4x100 96 ITR replicas a long time ago. I think they were leftovers from another European seller who was shut down.....cause they were so cheap and incomplete. They were missing the lug-seat inserts and had a second coat of bright white paint to alter the color. They still looked amazing but disappeared as fast as they showed up.
Just wanted to make an update. The Circuit Performance is now selling the 4 and 5 lug ek9 replicas in championship white with blank center caps. I would definitely have gotten these if they were available at the time so I highly recommend them! The wheels have been doing me great and Im super happy with the look. I have them on Nitto Neogens and they are a great looking tire because the sidewall is very smooth. They are great sporty all seasons.

what’s the status on the center caps you mocked up? I’d love to get these with some red Honda logo caps. Are you trying again? Maybe a vinyl logo would work?

I haven’t tried again but that is because I have not got another set of centercaps yet. On the gloss white wheels the center caps have a lip and the logo is raised so I didnt paint those. However I think there is a set for sale on ebay that would work better, the only problem is that those and the originals have a rounded face so it would be hard to paint like I did the others. A vinyl logo would work good if you can get one cut precisely. I have to 3D print a template for the H on the other and that would he harder to do if it is rounded.
I did want to mention that they sell championship white wheels now and their center caps are not raised and have no logo. They dont fit on the gloss white wheels though they told me.

Thanks man. I'm about to pull the trigger on the Championship White set. Hopefully it will look ok on my black EK. lol
Pretty damn good price, and they look great!
I think you have 205 / 50 tires fitted..? Any rubbing, or all clear? I'm lowered on BC Racing coilovers.

Reason: additional information
I already had black lugs waiting for another set of wheels I was planning to refurb, but hopefully they'll look ok with these. If not, I'll grab some chrome ones.
Ehaynes Many thanks for the lead on these! I've been looking for reasonably priced 90's style wheels for a long time!

I love the wheels, they look amazing. I think that the championship white will go great on the black. The tires are awesome and I think that its the perfect size for the wheel. I don’t really rub unless its a sharp turn and Im going hard into it, but I think that is more so because of my coilovers.
I am running the Truhart streetplus coilovers, but I think that they had some manufacturing issues around that time because I have preload on them and they are at max height and my rear especially is way too low. Alldayanthony told me that he had the same problem when he put a second pair on his white civic and said that it was different than when he put them on his red one. They have served me well and I could probably get the rear to a better hieght if I add more preload to it but I dont want to make them any stiffer. Also, I rarely ever rub and my quarter panels and fenders are not rolled. Im probably going to get Tein Flex Z coilovers in a year or so because I think they will be a more comfortable ride and allow me to raise the car. I highly recommend the Nitto Neogens. They also have extra rubber on the insides of the tire so if you run camber it wears alittle easier I have heard.
Finally got mine installed. I think they look pretty sweet.. did you ever find / make some good overlays for the center caps? I haven’t popped mine on yet, hoping to find either a clear background overlay, or championship white background.

Your car looks really good! I have not got an overlay yet because I have been so busy with college but I just graduated so I’m going to get the center caps done and paint my lip and sideskirts soon. I was thinking about buying some maroon vinyl H’s that I saw on ebay to put over them, but I didn’t pick which size yet. Plus I still have to get a set of centercaps that dont have the circuit performance logo embossed on them.

thanks man! Appreciate it, and thank you for the post, informing us of these wheels. They look great!
please let me know if you figure out a solution for the overlays, I’d be really stoked to get that done.!

Update on the center caps! I finally got a set to replace my circuit performance caps. With the original gloss white CP42's the center caps have the logo embossed so I bought a plain set on ebay. If you bought the championship white ones then you can just use the ones you have obviously which is ideal. After painting mine, to make them look like real EK9 wheels, I got these H decals off ebay as well. Specifically in the BURGENDY color because the real EK9 ones have a maroon H not a bright red one like most people think. The have a clear overlay so they can go on gloss white or champ white. However, real EK9 wheels actually have 75 mm center caps, not 60 mm. So, when you are in check out in ebay, you can put a note on the order and tell the seller to make them 33 mm because they do custom sizes. The 33 mm sticker is the same proportion to 60 mm caps as a 38 mm sticker is to 75 mm caps. So the H is smaller than on EK9 wheels but it makes the H fit very nicely on the cap, otherwise I think it would be too big.
I've got a photo dump of what they looked like throughout the process. I also have a bad photo of the old ones I made where I painted H's on vs the H decal. The decal turned out so perfect. I also highly recommend that if you paint your caps to let them cure at least 3 full days. I waited 2 and the transfer tape can make lines in the paint and you will have to try to smooth them out and try not to mar your paint in the process. Super happy with how it turned out. Just got an air compressor because I'm going to paint an Si replica lip, grill, and my side skirts all white to complete the look. Already is cool to know this thread has helped someone find these wheels.

Badass! Thank you! I’ll have to do the same. I purchased some overlays, but haven’t yet applied them. With your research, and details, I’ve decided to scrap the ones I have and order the correct size and color! Those look perfect.
The white coupe looks really good. The black one looks good. In the second to last picture of heys the tire sticks out like a 90s low rider. Looks like two different offsets or tire widths.

We actually have the exact same wheels and tires so I think the angle of that photo makes it not look like it is flush, but the front wheels on mine are flush with the fender. The wheels have slightly more offset than stock EK9 wheels so they are flush with the fender instead of sunk in.
Recently got the Type R replica rims installed on my '98 Civic Sedan. They are simply sublime! Will get the Type R center caps soon!
Looks really good man, the caps will really tie it together. You just needs some coilovers now. I am looking at getting the tein flex z ones. I currently run truhart streetplus but I have the height maxxed out and its still too low in the rear.

Currently in the middle of a B16b swap!
Thank you, but I'm looking to make this Civic my daily driver, so I'm not planning to install coilovers and lower the car. I'm loving the B16B swap though, and will hopefully do that someday when my D16Y8 finally gives up the ghost! How much did you have to rip out of your engine bay to swap it?

If anyone wants it, I would be happy to go into depth about exactly what I started out with and any issues I have faced. Mainly I disconnected everything linking the car and engine. My B16b came with almost everything I needed but was missing small things like brackets that you don’t reuse from the D16. But its still pretty plug and play. Like I said I can get specific but whats hurt me the most during the swap is stuff the previous owner of the B16b had changed, but so far I have been able to make it work and reuse a fair amount of stuff from the D16y8, including bolts I was missing and motor mount brackets. Also replaced all the motor mounts while I was in there but I think they are all the same. You just need the torque mount bracket for the B16.
Something I have retained is my D16 AC compressor and condenser. I used a CRV AC mounting bracket and did not disconnect the compressor so that I didn’t have to discharge and recharge the system. I have not installed the motor mount yet because I couldn’t get them to align yet so I hope its just a matter of jacking up the motor. Having some trouble getting the PLM 4-2-1 header on because of the AC but I think I can get it to clear.
Looks good man! Telling you though she needs some low. Recently got my B16b swap going. Have had some kinks to work out but its running and driving for the most part. After I get all the little issues worked out, want to work to making the bay cleaner.
Hell yeah!! Wish I could find (and mostly afford) a B swap.
And, agree 100%.. needs some low for sure..
