just don't drive through puddles...the bypass isn't really necessary...
It's like a condom when your girl is on the pill, ya know
just be sure to "pull out" of the puddle.. heh

Is it really that bad, Ive got one and if its gonna do that **** I am now scared. Do you really think that its gonna do that or was it a fluke thing
well the thing is is that i live in florida where it rains like a bitch. is it only gonna harm my engine if i submerge my filter underwater? and maybe you had your bypass valve installed wrong because mine seems fine. and if i take away my bypass valve.....will i get better performance outta my cai???

look, they are garbage, and if "yours seems fine" then aparently you have already installed it, and this was a pointless thread

so in that case yes, it would hurt performance, I am not sure if this is true though..

The bypass works off of the diff in pressure, I have heard the the bypass valve can suck warm air in from near the motor (where it is mounted) instead of the cone filter behind your bumper...

yes, that is the idea...My point was,
I've heard some people saying they belive that it always sucks "some" hot air from the bypass, instead of the cone...A friend put his hand on the bypass, while someone else revved.
Since I wasn't there, I don't if it's true, but it sounds logical because the air would choose the easiest path.
