Wacky Vent Selector Nob Behavior & Not Working 99 Civic LX
I recently purchased my mom's old 5spd civic and there are some things idk about. Whats odd is that if you turn the *** from feet/face down to defrost the A/C button light illuminates. How the heck does that work? Ontop of that she hooked up the battery backwards and I had to custom fashion an engine ground strap to get it to work correctly so I have no clue if it fried the ground to wherever/whatever controls that. Also of note is the left side horn button doesn't work for some reason. I also just tested the motor itself and the mode control motor works but its not getting a signal for some reason to it.

In the '96-00 Civic, when one turns the selector **** to Defrost, the A/C is automatically engaged to DRY out the air inside the car. This is normal for the car... just weird to you.
Huh strange. Either way though I still have the issue of the vents staying on defrost. When I took apart the MCM and put it back together it moved from the position it was in to defrost and nothing I do takes it out of defrost.
Hooking up a battery backwards is REALLY BAD for a car... there is no telling what might have gotten damaged by this mistake.
