Default Transmission problems!! Help a brotha out

2000 Honda CRV AWD

Replacing the transmission on my CRV and everything is identical until some sort of sensor/ harness connection. Newer tranny(Bought from JDM MOTORS)has an 8 pin and the old tranny has a 9 pin. Whatever sensor it is, looks the same and in the same spot.

MAIN QUESTION:Could I simply take the old sensor out and put it in the new tranny? I assume this is a stupid question and I need to return and get the correct one🤷‍♂️ whoever helps it is much appreciated

Old tranny plug

New

Location of whatever the hell im looking at

That is the transmission range switch.

Your original USDM connector is 10P. The JDM connector is 8P.

See this other HT thread related to someone else's solution to this issue, which sounds like he used a USDM RD2 CR-V transmission range switch.
