P0340 after replacing timing belt - help!
I have a 2006 Accord, V6. A month ago it broke down on the freeway and all the lights on the dash lit up. Engine code read P0335 - crankshaft position sensor malfunction. Mechanic said the timing belt had been destroyed because my shredded serpentine belt got caught up in the timing belt (serpentine belt issue has been taken care of) and he replaced full timing belt kit. It has been running good since then.
Now, a month later the check engine light comes on, along with the VSA/triangle exclamation light. Code reads P0340 - camshaft position sensor malfunction. It's also cranking a long time to start.
Any thoughts?? Could it actually be a timing belt issue that's causing these codes? I'm worried timing belt is going to go out again now. I read that some V6 Accords had a defective timing belt tensioner. Just trying to come up with ideas before I take it to a mechanic.
Any help would be appreciated!!
