Honda Civic 1999 Sedan (D15b Non-Vtec P2C ECU), Power Steering issue!!!
Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie and don't know where to start, but here we go. I own a 1999 Honda Civic Facelift (D15b SOHC Non-Vtec P2C ECU) Sedan, 4-door.
Recently, I've been facing an issue with the steering system. It's a hydraulic system that uses fluid to operate through lines. Although it is very smooth, even at high speeds over 100 km/h, the excessive smoothness of the steering makes it challenging for the car to stay stable on the road. This abnormal smoothness is causing the car to become unstable, sometimes leading to sideways movement, which is not normal and poses a safety risk. I've lowered the car, and the suspension work, including the bushes and axle kits, has been recently done.
I suspect that the Check Engine light being on might indicate some sensor issues. I'm wondering if there is any sensor associated with the hydraulic steering system that I can check. If someone could guide me with a wiring diagram or provide sensor knowledge, I would appreciate it.
Best Regards, Hamza

The only sensor associated with the power steering is the PS pressure switch. All it does is indicate when there is load on the steering system, which the ecu uses to idle up the engine if steering at idle.
Was the car aligned after you did all of the suspension work? There's no reason that it should be overboosted to the point of feeling unstable, especially at such a modest highway speed.
