Default D16y8 Swap into 92 EG hatch / OBD1 or OBD2?

Hello All,

I'm new to the Honda world and of course I bought a civic that lasted an hour. The car came with a d16y7 block with a d16y8 head. Spun a bearing, so I went out and got a d16y8 out of a 98 that is completely bone stock.

My question is about the ecu/harness situation. I am wondering what the best route to go is. I want to make this car as reliable as possible, so im not sure what to do. I have the harness that came with the engine, but it doesn't appear to be the original. The OBD 1 ecu that came with it is also tuned but I know nothing about it. The d16y8 that I bought came with the engine harness and the stock OBD2 ecu. Should I get a new OBD1 ecu and use the harness that is there now, or should I keep the OBD2 ecu and use the new harness? If I use the OBD2 ecu/harness, how would I hook that up to my instrument cluster?

If thats confusing just let me know and I can clarify. This may have already been posted but I couldn't find anything. Appreciate all the help in advance!
