Is it normal for brake pedal to make friction and clicking noises?
I purchased a 2024 Honda CRV EX-L. I noticed that the brake pedal was making a loud friction noise (listen to attached brake_friction.mp3). My other car (Mini Cooper) actually has this noise too, but it's 15 years old so I assumed it was age related. But why does the new car make the same sounds? Another noise that the brake pedal makes is a clicking sound (listen to attached brake_clicking.mp3): when you press it, it first makes a clicking sound, I can feel it and also clearly hear it from where the gear shift lever is located.
I went to the dealership and other cars of the same model are making the same noise. It is very annoying to drive and hear this friction, especially when it is quiet inside the car. Do all brake pedals in all cars make such sounds? Am I just a paranoid and this is normal?

What you're hearing is the brake switch and the shifter interlock. Common on all cars. Some you can hear more than others. As long as there isn't anything else causing a problem, you're good to go.
Best advice. Turn up the radio a little bit.

I added a video here just to show how and what I recorded. I posted initially just the audio recording because when I record a video, the sound is muffled for some reason. I just turned on the ignition and made a recording while idling in my garage. The same sounds can be heard when you are driving at, say, 20-30 mph and then hit the brakes.
The car drives fine and I don't have any issues, just those noises that I didn't expect on a new car. So, based on the video and audio I posted would you say "there isn't anything else causing that problem"? Or should I take it to dealership just in case to consult and/or check it?

Normal. Every time the vehicle is in park, depressing the brake actuates the brake system and lights along with disengaging the shifter lock. The shifter lock is an actuator that prevents the car from coming out of park without using the brakes. Some are just louder than others. I used to hear mine in my 08 HHR SS. It was faint but noticeable when the radio was off.
You can check on youtube, and put somme grease-vaseline....or add some plastick on the interlock shift **** - from where the noise comme !!!!!!
you can find others video info on youtube about noise interlock shift - braking cliking noise .
Take care !
