Heater issue 97 civic EX
Hello , I’m reaching out to see if anyone can help me narrow down what else I can do to try and get more heat from my heater .
Ive checked the blend door actuator and it seems to be working fine. Heater core is warming up as inlet and outlet hoses get hot. Car warms up to proper temp . But the air only comes out luke warm at best . What else could I check?

Drive the car harder. Does it feel hotter but temp gauge same spot? The temp gauge seems like it has a big flat spot for a particular temp range as being normal per the gauge dial. You could install a digital coolant temp sensor to see if you are reaching 180-200°.
Also flushing the heater core may help if its not flowing all that well.
From exp lil d16s dont get hot idling in a driveway in the winter (20-30° f) unless you leave it sit for like an hour. They just get warm. Takes some highway driving to get mine blowing warmer air.

I actually just flushed the heater core and not much gunk came out for the most part it was fine . Took it out for a lengthy drive and it still gets luke warm but stays there.
Make sure you have a thermostat installed. It restricts coolant flowing thru the radiator. A proper working one doesnt open till around 180°. Get a thermometer and figure out the numerical temperature to dig deeper

I didn’t know that so I’ll dig into that now , I’ll check for the thermostat and likely replace it and try and see what the temps are at
