Hey everyone, stupid question but I can’t figure it out. I decided to install an oem splash guard 08P00-s01-102 kit on my 2000 ej8 coupe that I’ve had sitting for a while. I’m following the oem install directions for the kit.
the fronts went on fine, but both back ones are giving me trouble. When trying to align the holes, there is a large gap near the top (see 3rd pic). I doubt this is normal, any tips on how it properly place this thing? I’ve tried taking the wheels off too but nothing works.
in the pictures, the spring nuts are not installed but I tried with them and got the same problem.

The majority of 99-00 rear mudguards are 96-98 guards and have a different profile but can be made to work.
If anyone gets a set of 99-00 send me a message, I'll buy em
That might explain the weird fittment I got test fitting the aftermarket mudflaps I got for my Civic, guess they used 96-98 Civics as their mold and sold them as 96-00

Yeah the 96-98 bumpers are different profile than 99-00

Your solution is to trim them slightly and run them.
Or search for a long time for the right ones. Which will usually be hard to spot. And not available new.
Ive been looking for a set for probably 15+ years. Thanks, you had me on ebay last night and $130 later I have a real set of 99-00 rear coupe mudflaps on the way. Notice how the outer edge is basically straight and no wavey part like 96-98.
You will either find them listed as Rare for lots of money, or try to eyeball every used 96-00 listing you come across. I think I've looked at every new-aftermarket option and none are 99-00 style, just 96-98 being advertised as 96-00.
Re: 2000 Civic Coupe rear splash guards won’t align
I do have the right ones, the box they came in has part number 08P00-S01-102 which is for the 99-00 coupe. Also, they don't have the protrusion to fit the lower gap in the bumper like the 96-98 models do. I may check the bumper next to see if it's been replaced unbeknownst to me with something other than the OEM 99-00 one.
