Just wanted to quick chime in and share my build plans.
Donor Vehicle is a 2006 Honda Odyssey - J35A6 (Non-variable cylinder management)
I'll be making a Mid-Engine, RWD, tube-frame kart from scratch. Utilizing as much of the OEM Honda components as possible (control arms, steering rack, hubs)
I'd like to be under 11' total length so it'll fit in a toy hauler.
1.5"x .095" 4130 Chromoly tubing using the Affordable Bender
Honestly, The hardest part I can think of is minimalistic wiring and keeping VTEC, maybe having to get extended manual transmission cables to work. Working on getting a 2003 Acura CL 6-speed.
If anyone can share if they've done anything similar and any issues or shortcuts they found, i'd appreciate it.
Also, I recall seeing a standalone harness that is like a 3-wire hookup, "just make it run" or something along those lines, but my computer updated over the weekend and I lost it. If you know what i'm talking about, I'd love that link.
Donor: 2006 Odyssey - J35A6 (non-VCM) tube frame buggy I made off a 2010 Crown Vic End goal would be something similar, maybe more enclosed.
Snagged this 2004 Donor for $400 - Just 2 miles away, ran and drove, lost over drive.
My currently installed engine was a junkyard find for $50, so I know this new one runs well.
Just ordered P2R Header kit to go with my flowmaster FX bottom-inlet muffler.
Front shocks are QA1 DS501 coilovers.
This weekend I plan to:
-Finish underside welding
-Re-do the UCA mounts on the front and install the front coilovers
-Figure out brake lines
-Figure out radiator options
