Questeions for those of u with H22 swaps
i was wondering how u like them? would u of rather went with a b-series? how's it for everyday driving? how does it pull on the highway next to a b series? how much u spend for everything at the end? how does it handle and what suspension mods do u have done to it? ive searched a lot for this and found some helpful info but i want to know if theres any new people with the swap and anyone that wants to say anything about h22's in civics just say it!
I had a h22 civic about 5 years ago, Steph did the swap back when he had Honda-Pro. Overall I was very happy with it, I didn't ever have any problems other than ground clearance. I did crack a mount after about 2.5 years and had it rewelded and a front added. I ran mid 13's @ 101 with just bolt-on's and dynoed at 190whp and 156lbs torque. I only regret putting it in a heavy 92si which weighed 2400lbs without me.Was a fun car though.
As far as handling, I had no problem. I could pull all motor b- series on the highway with no problems with 156lbs of torque!

It has to be a great engine.
I love mine.
The fact of the matter is its a strong, torqueful engine.
Also, it pulls and feels much faster than the b-series.
You are going to need a very very light front engine to balance out the weight, but other than that

To add to the ground clearance issue, there's a pic in the Appearance Forum of a 5th gen hatch with an H22A. The header hangs really low - so low that it goes way past the bottom of the front bumper.
My guess is that ramps and potholes are big no-no's for H22 Civics (well most lowered cars for that matter). However, H22 Civics are quite badass and fast, to say the least. Good luck.
