Hello everyone I just wanted to share my experience with my first Honda. It’s a Del Sol 1993 and I’ve had it for 2 days. Since I got it it has been overheating. First issue was it didn’t read the temp. As I was poking around the engine bay I noticed the temperature gauge sensor was cut so I rigged that back up and *Boom* we have readings. Now the over heating. I changed the thermostat, fan switch sensor, drained and flushed the radiator, and new rad cap. It seemed to have fixed the issue….. for about 10 miles before it starts acting up on the way to work.



when I got home(steaming) I noticed it was coming out of 2 specific spots around the rad cap and overflow tank.after carefully examining the radiator I noticed a small chip where the cap is suppose to be grabbing on to. I also noticed the cap would tighten but you can twist of further and will loses up( with both old and new). So at 11pm I got a new radiator slapped it on and went on the highway zooming and there you go good as new.

ps: I went to AutoZone dreading that it was the HEAD GASKET and got the test kit and it passed with flying colors causing me to look into the radiator. Hope this can help anyone with similar problems because everyone was saying it’s my head which had me ready to give up on the Del Sol. lol thank god I didn’t listen.
