I just bought an 1990 acura integra gs trans swapped, and its been sitting for 2 and a half years before i bought it, when bro pulled up he turned the car off and it wouldnt start so we pushed it i reverse he told me the battery was dead which made sense,the idle kind of go up and down from 0 to 1000 rpms, when i drove it home everything was fine (fun asf) and it started by itself when i drove to the store a few times, i changed the battery and it cranks and it sounds like it wants to turn over, changed the spark plugs and it sounds like it wants to turn over even more, any ideas?

I had something similar happen due to issues with the starter, which had worn-out brushes, and a dirty throttle body at the same time. We drove about 200 miles after purchasing it, and the next morning, it just wouldn't start. After fixing the starter, the rpm started fluctuating. We checked various sensors, looked for vacuum leaks, but it turned out we needed to deal with the throttle body.
