I'm back with a new honda,
In 1999 I was an active member with my uk spec eg6 vti dohc
In 2002 I swapped to a 1997 jdm dc2 type r until 2006
I then stepped away from honda and owned and tracked a 1994 type R2 fd3s rx7.
I sold this car in 2020 and bought a 981 cayman S
Last month I picked up a car I always wanted when I was younger but they were so rare here in the UK.
Here is my 1992 jdm del sol siR with the optional manual roof and optional LSD. it's gonna take some work to get it where I want it but I'm committed.
Bushes, rust, and service are first.

The plan is sell the 17s and get some nice 15s. Suspension, 282mm brakes.
Stick with the b16a and I've already started buying turbo parts and will go tried and tested t04e probably.
Not sure on how to tune on the factory p30 but I'm a way from that point yet.

I mean that might fail an MOT, but here in the US that's just a little bit of character lol. You can fix that with a couple patch panels easy.
You have a couple options. You can get an ECU Tamer or a Snake EMU and run Honda Tuning Suite, or you can go the easy route and run Hondata S300 V3.

Thanks man,
The dc2 was probably the most fun car ive owned, the fd definitely was the fastest.
The del sol had sat in a corner of a yard for 2 years so and would have turned to orange dust but it deserved so much more.

So the sol is coming along nicely.
I've done quite a bit which has transformed the car already but all the metalwork and paint and it really is looking factory fresh.
Got brand new coilovers, front lip and yoko advan tyres all new and waiting to go on.
Still got a load of other bits and pieces to do before the weather turns but it's certainly getting there.
These Sir models are really rare in the UK and even more so the optional lsd 4.4 fd ones.
It's such a fun retro ride that actually feels pretty quick still on the right twisty roads.

So I got meister r club race coilovers and fitted they have improved the ride tremendously.
I've tidied up the engine bay quite a lot, checked the timing belt and replaced the rocker gasket set.
I made a complete mess of painting the rocker but it will have to do for now.
front brakes are replaced for a more track set up and rears are ready to fit.
I hit loads of problems and abandoned the rear brakes due to snapped bolts, I need 2 new calipers so just secured everything to be able to move the car around.
32yr old cars 😉
Taking her premium slot in the garage !!

It's been almost a year and you're still at it, eh.
Best of luck getting it where you want it. It's a Honda, but it's still an old Honda, and you might find that some things are hard to get cheaply.

Yes, it's certainly been a labour of love, nothing happens quickly when work has me away from home too often and a family wanting to enjoy my time when I make it take priority.
Tbh coming from a rotary 13b I've found honda parts a breeze to find. Even the 2 Germans cost way more even for just general maintenance. The honda is the bargain bucket.
I'll get the brakes finished later in November when I get home again then it's just concentrating on getting it ready for circuit days when the weather improves.
