What to do with my EM1
So I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si, I love the thing, but I have come to an issue. I recently joined the Navy and as of now I'm close to home and can go back on the weekends and drive it. In March I will be going to my next duty station and I won't be close enough to home to drive it on the weekends. The two options I have thought of would be keeping it in storage until I am done my 5 year contract, this option would allow me to still have the car after I am done my contract, but would cause some severe deterioration from sitting all those years. The other option would be to sell it, which I am reluctant on because I love this car. I would like some suggestions/insight from others to help me make this decision. What do you guys think?
That's how it goes. If I were you I'd store it at a friends house/garage or a family member. Someone who is capable and willing to drive it around the block a few times on occasion.
Clean it like it's going to a show, change all the fluids, buy a cover, put it storage (preferably somewhere temperature stable and dark), disconnect the battery, leave a bucket of damp-rid in the cabin, and just assume you'll be purchasing new tires first thing when you pull it out of storage. Five years isn't really that long.
Store it near your parents' place or wherever you'll be referring to as 'home' while you're travelling the world and you can check up on it whenever you go to visit your loved ones.
