Slow throttle response.
Hi there. Just seeing if anyone on here has had the same problems or would know how to help. I’ve got a Honda CRV 2002 with a 2.4 k24 engine and having a hard time getting to the bottom of my slow throttle response. A few weeks ago I had a knock sensor code come up which I thought was the issue of my problems. I replaced that with an oem Knock sensor. The engine light has gone away and don’t seem to be getting all the same problems as before but still lacking the pick-up performance. I’ve cleaned the throttle body and replaced spark plugs but still the same. Almost feels like a turbo lag is the best way to describe the sensation. If anyone could help that would be appreciated. Thanks 🙏🏽
Did you torque the knock sensor to the specified figure? Knock sensors are particular about it. Also, if you did not buy an OEM knock sensor it might not be working correctly as it is.
I would consider the following; fuel quality (if you've let fuel sit in the tank, that could be a reason), valves need an adjustment, fouled air filter, obstructed fuel filter, dirty fuel injectors, and the fuel pump failing.
If you can get your hands on a scantool with live data that will also be a help. Pay attention to the fuel trims.
