Lost my key to 08 Civic LX (Manual), Fob battery is dead
I am disabled & live with my 67 year old mother & 91 year old adopted father. Unfortunately the 3 of us have no spare money & I do Doordash UberEATS WeGo Instacart & other odd jobs for a few hundred bucks a month when my body will allow it for work. I feared the day when I may lose my key because it was too expensive to make a copy of it. I got very sick after work & was basically in a state of delirium & can't remember what I did for 3 days this week. I noticed my key was missing when I pulled them out of my pocket.
The metal part of the key detached from the plastic part (I had it super glued, taped, & connected with putty). It of course did not land in my pocket despite the keys being there. I've checked EVERYWHERE but I made it home so I'm thinking it's on the floorboard of my car. I've googled some ways to get in my car but none of them are helpful.
Can anyone assist me with a way to get into my car either through the door, the trunk (& then through the back seat), or through the hood, then having that open the trunk, then the back seat, etc? I'm open to literally ANY idea. I have ZERO money & no friends or family that can assist me, unfortunately everyone I know is dead or dying & anyone left alive doesn't care to be around people who are sickly so I lost any remaining "friends" I thought I had. Everyday that goes by is a possible work day that I can't make $20-40 & to me that's a TON of money that I can't make up. I'm already eating 5 years old MREs from hurricane Michael & malnutritioned due to the food stamps office refusing to return my calls. I can't pick up my medications which is mandatory for me to survive & I'm starting to really feel like no matter what I do or try I'm screwed.
I'm a desperate man. I hate asking for help & like most people I'm proud & I wouldn't ask if I didn't have to ask, but I'm not technically savvy or mechanically savvy so you'll have to explain the steps to me like I'm 6 years old lol.
I remember a long time ago (20 years+) we used to keep slim jim's in our cars & could open them from the window by pushing straight down. I don't think you can do that anymore.
Thanks in advance.
