Default The beeping when the door is open (2002 accord)

Does anyone know how to disconnect the cord that makes the door beep when its open and the key is in? I have more than one remote, so i can open my door if i lock the keys in, but i cant sit with my door open and the music on (i took the subs out so theres no boom to counterbalance the beep)

a quick way to get around that if i remember on my '00 accord is to turn the key to the 'accessories' where you can turn on your A/C...etc. Then the beep will go for about 4 beeps and stop. That way you can play the music with the door open and not worry bout the beep.

I'm not sure if Honda still does it this way but there is a small box under the dash on the driver's side that beeps. Locate it by listening to the beep. It's called the chime assembly. Just unplug it. I unplugged these while installing alarms because they would just get too annoying.

locate the button on the door jamb.
remove the rubber boot.
take out the button.
of course this will also not let the interior light come on when the door is open.
on some cars, all you have to do is unscrew the screw for the button a couple of turns to open the ground, and it will stop the beeping.

i would just do it the way stew said, though.

It's part of the drivers multiplex control unit. You don't want to disconnect that.
