Ok I have a 2000 Honda accord, it’s been a good car until I let a friend borrow it. The transmission started shifting rough. It finally popped the check engine like with a blinking d4. I got the codes: P0780 Shift Malfunction, P0700 Transmission control system, P0705 Transmission Range Sensor (circuit malfunction 2-posi, P0706 Transmission range Sensor Circuit Range/Performance (no-posi). I replaced the transmission speed sensor. Now, when you’re at a complete stop, 1st head starts super slow and revs high then once it rough shifts to 2nd, it drives just fine. I need help I did read the code after installing and it doing it again and now all i get is a P0780 shift malfunction.

 

Check and clean the solenoid screens. Change the fluid. If neither of those helps then your transmission is on it's way out. They are notorious for failure in that generation.

 

Where are the solenoid screens? What has to be done to get to them?
