European ECU quest
I have a pristine 2002 Accord Coupe with 62,000 original miles (V6, automatic, sold new in Germany). It is giving a persistent P0141 error, and it does not pass inspection with this error. My (Honda-certified) mechanic has replaced the o2 sensor and all wiring between that and the ECU to no avail. He's narrowed the source of the error down to the ECU (part number 37820-P8C-G64). No spares are available from Honda. I've searched the entire internet for a replacement, new or used, but none are available. I've queried a few auto electronic shops to see if any can rebuild it, but all have turned me away saying that it's not possible.
1. Does anyone have any sources (incl. non-internet, like salvage yards, etc.) especially in Europe that have or might be able to find this part?
2. How much risk would there be in using a new ECU for a 2001 Accord Coupe V6 (part number 37820-P8C-G63), currently available via ebay?
I'd really appreciate any help with this. Literally, the fate of a fine automobile is at stake.
