Hello all,

My ‘96 Civic EX has been garaged since about mid-July. Every 4-6 weeks or so, I’ve started it and driven it around the block.

This time, when I put key in the ignition, it beeped several times, but when I turned the key I heard nothing, nada, …No cranking, no clicking…zilch.

Thinking I could roll the car out of the garage and try to jump the battery (installed 12/21), I tried to put the car in neutral, but I was unable to get it out of park.

Any ideas?

Stick the key in the shift lock hole and move the lever to neutral.

 

Ah! Perfect, Thanks! Now, at least I should be able to get it out of the garage and see if it’ll take a charge, so I can get the battery tested.
