Dohc F20B swap in 3rd gen
I have a stock 3rd gen prelude and I wanna swap with a turbo f20b, I'm planning on making anywhere between 400-450hp. I wanna know how much hp can the stock block handle, I know the engine has iron sleeves so I heard many ppl saying it can handle up to 500hp without any problems but I'm not too sure about that. Also Besides forged pistons and rods what other internals should I change? I'm open to any suggestions. Thank you in advance!
do you already have the F20B? why did you chose this platform other than the stated iron liners?
to have a chance at that power goal you'll want to save some money up front and go with a less "exotic" engine. F22B1 and F23A1 are capable of your power goal* and spares are available at most junk yards for less than $500.
Read through this thread. unfortunately all of the photo links are dead, but most of the details should still be there. Op was in the 450hp range.
*(when built which the F20B would require too)
