I was driving down the road and noticed when I went up a hill it took it a little longer to change gears. I got about 5 miles down the road and the car cut off at a red light. It started right back up but I noticed my oil light was on and it was knocking. I pulled over a checked the oil and it had oil in it. I drove it about 10 miles with it still knocking and it just locked up on Me and cut off. I noticed water boiling from my overflow reservoir. There’s no rod hanging out just the motor locked up. I’m wondering what caused it and if it’s possible to rebuild or try and find a new motor.. any help is greatly appreciated!

 

The oil pump died.

Motor is trash.

 

Could it be rebuilt? Or would my best bet be to find another motor?

 

Unless the rest of the car is in extremely good condition, you're probably better off selling it as a rolling shell + working transmission.
